Synopsis

Race is the story of two step-brothers – Ranvir Singh (Saif Ali Khan) and Rajeev Singh (Akshaye Khanna). They have a horse breeding business. Ranvir is the responsible, elder brother whilst Rajeev is an alcoholic, who never takes anything seriously.

Ranvir meets Sonia (Bipasha Basu) and starts having feelings for her but isn't able to express them. At one of their parties Rajeev meets Sonia and falls for her. He tells Ranvir that if he gets married to Sonia he'll give up drinking. Ranvir then sacrifices his love so that Rajeev can marry Sonia, just for the sake of his brother.

Meanwhile Sophia (Katrina Kaif), who is Ranvir's secratory, also harbours romantic feelings towards Ranvir. However, Rajeev has more sinister plans, which he discloses to Sonia, who has a dark past. Thus these two decide to come together to remove Ranvir from their path to get his insurance money. Rajeev calls Ranvir to the terrace of their office from where Sonia pushes him 200 feet down to a bloody death.

In comes Detective R.D. (Anil Kapoor) with his secretary Mini (Sameera Reddy) for investigation. As he begins his investigation, slowly the layers unpeel to disclose the dark secrets hidden behind the surface where no one can be trusted and people can go to any lengths for money and personal victory.
